Well, here's my latest ride. It's a complete front to back Denver's built by a careful builder in the late 1970's. The motor is a '71. I found the bike on the SOHC4 board and moved on it immediately when I saw the photos.
Pics are here. http://s206.photobucket.com/user/R_Racer/library/Denvers%20Honda
Long story short... It was ridden until 1986 and then put into dry storage in the California dry, dry desert until a couple months ago. 28 years! The bike still has the '86 blue tags and reg sticker on it. Originally, the carbs and tank were drained, and when they were refilled the bike started immediately and idled great! The chrome is virtually like new and I brought it home about a week ago.
I'm going through the bike now to fit new tires, chain, air filter elements, rolling stock bearings and generally checking over anything that needs attending to for safety. I need to fabricate a right-side middle peg in stainless to match the others and somehow find a correct loooong chain guard. For the most part, I'm just gonna keep it exactly as the original builder intended. I thought about mounting a Littlejohn prism I have along with a cobra seat but the Frisco tank and solo seat are growing on me.
Now I just have to find out if a worn out, half blind Olphart can find happiness on a long rigid or whether my chiropractor and I will become even closer...
