I've got a set of coils from the bike I'm building (76 SOHC) and the plug wires are cracked in several places to where you can see the conductor in the center. I'm using the stock frame from the bike and would like a bolt in fix. The coils I have were working when I took the bike apart, so I know they're good. Here are my questions:
1: Should I just electrical tape the shit out of the wires and not worry about it? (Really I was thinking of covering the old wires in shrink tubing to hold them together)
2: Should I replace them? Used or New?
3: Are there replacement coils with wires that aren't permanently attached? (Personally this is one area where I think Mr. Honda Fucked up, I should be able to change the wires).
I'm running the stock points system, stock alternator, stock rectum-fier (rectum, damn near killed em'), stock regulator, hell the whole damned motor is stock truth be told.
I'm looking for some ideas from some of you who may have been down this road before.
Thanks in advance!
