I've made it pretty damn far in my project with out having to actually weld anything, which is good because I lack the knowlege/skill/equiptment. I almost made it too, but I just found out my kick stand lug that Tigman welded on the frame he made for me is too close to the back engine mounting bolt (about an inch away). My drag pipes will not fit. Also, when I put on my kickstand, the bike leaned in the opposite direction, where it would fall over if I weren't holding it up (too steep of an angle?). So now it is time to bite the bullet and learn, which is a good thing except I wanted to get the bike done asap and this may take a little while.
Sooo...questions: What is the cheapest welder that will get me by and I can learn on? I see harbor freight arc welders for $125ish. will that work or be useless? I will not be welding frames together or anything (not yet). What is the easiest to learn on? Any and all advice is appreciated.
