Thank you Thunderbolt. Maybe you can help me out? did you have to redo the rear springs or were you able to get new ones for your frame? the ones on the frame
I got are rusted, not to bad I think I can reuse them just not sure about the tightness of them. and also where can I get some of the forks that they used for
the saviour frame?

Somebody else will have to field the spring questions however before we go swapping out front ends you need to decide what you are looking for. Do you want to keep a hydraulic front end or get a springer or girder ? I wasn't around then however there were many different styles of forks then that would work. Do you want the bike level or do you want it sitting high like it is now ? You may want a shorter front end or a raked one, maybe even rake the neck more ? The next information wou will need is What size the neck is. It appears that the front end is a Honda. Does it have the correct bearings in it ? If not it may be a H.D. neck. Amen made frames with both styles of neck. |

Buttcan speaks the truth. Go to the Gallery, or My Build or My ride forums for a lot of cool ideas for front ends. BTW, a normal raked Honda necked Savior or AMEN Rigid stance is about right(level+) with a 4" over front end.
Here are some pics that you might want peruse for ideas also: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14971874@N03/collections/72157602403869992/ Here is some info on the Savior rear: The large letters refer to the AMEN Catalog Pages. http://www.hondachopper.com/gallery_misc/amen_catalog/index.html A: Adjusting bolts/nuts size
: Top Spring The 163A springs are chrome, you can get the pair at a few places like www.paughco.com for around $50. They are regular replacement springer springs" Roadkill Savior
E: Bottom Spring: The lowers can be purchased at diamond wire. http://www.diamondwire.com/ is the correct web address
F: Top Crown Nuts As far as the nuts go, your best bet would be to get a hold of working class choppers and get their solid steel chrome plated caps. They are $30 for 2 and worth it. You could put the new ones on top and the old ones on the bottom, or get all 4 new chrome ones. Roadkill Savior
Both the top and bottom Amen savior nuts are 1-1/8" X 12 TPI. (1-1/8"UNF or fine). Fastenal sells individual stainless nuts. You would have to cut some material off or split one nut in half to make two? 13tbucket
They are 3/4" long 3/4" ID and 7/8" OD.
McMaster Carr has them.
Lubing maintenance Take off the big top acorn nuts and douche everything down good with chain lube. Another thing-what kind of bottom nut does your plunger setup use? They're supposed to have a big acorn on top but a regular flat nut on the bottom. They aren't supposed to have an acorn on the bottoms like on my bike because they can fill up with water & rust the plunger stem solid Why do I do it anyway? 2 reasons; it looks cooler and I squirt the lower one up with chain lube after every wash or rain ride and bounce on the seat a few times. Spoom
K: Axle: 14 ¾ long, threads are 1" long. 20mm Note: cb750man says his is 14" OLDHIPPY makes them OLD HIPPY 2920 V.T. CRAWLEY RD. MORGANFIELD KY. 42437 Kikilikker says that DOHC axles are long enough
AMEN Savior axle is more like 13.25"
20mm rod with 3/4" NC threads on each end. 20mm is .787 but the finished size needs to be approx .782" to fit thru the plunger axles. 25/32" is
.78125 You can use 25/32 "drill rod" stock available thru sources like McMaster Carr or Wholesale Tool Co. I think they sell it in 36" pieces
and cost is less than $30. Using 25/32 means you don't have to hone the outside down like you would if you use 20mm drill rod....which is also available
from those sources, as well as others.

Well guys, as far as the forks go I think I am goin to go with the older looking hd springers and no front break, I am not building this for speed, I am
building this bike for cruising. And down the road in Burlington theres a machine shop that my gf"s brother told me about that will look at the rear
springs for me and if they need to be replaced, they can get me new ons, and if they are still good they can rechrome them for me for about $20.00 a set. So
now that I have figured that out the next ? is do I try and an oler 750 or do I get a honda v-twin for it?

Being as the frames were designed and built for the older SOHC CB750's,I think that you would be hard put to try mounting a v twin without some major
modifications to the frame ,if not a total refabrication of it ............................

check out this pic of a CB750 Savior, these old bikes can make some really nice rides.
http://s465.photobucket.com/albums/rr20/Xnavylfr/ look at El Diablo. You can't really see the springs because of the throwover bags. That bike had a 78 f model engine in it. Of course if you run a springer or girder frontend and change the rake of the frame it will add to the look of the bike. Also check out the bike gallery you can get all kinds of ideas from there. WELCOME TO THE SITE, BE CAREFUL THOUGH THESE CB750,s start to multiply like rabbits. Xnavylfr(CHUCK)

Well all of you bothers here, I do have to thank you for all the advice you all have been giving me, and I am sure I will have more as I go. I am doing all
this on a very small budget so it will take me some time to build it. I am sure I will change my mind from time to time lol, but so far I do know that I want a
springer frontend (without the break), I am going to put a single seat on it and so far the paint will be (frame) caddy pearl white and (tank) ford blue with
the same white. I am goin to leave the rake the way it is cause I don't want it too far out in front lol and if you have seen the pics you can tell its not
a ( what I call a stubby front lol). Yes I would love to change the the rearend and be able to put a wide tire on the rear but I will save that for the next
build. Yes I am hooked on building bikes. I have worked on cars ( as a backyard machanic ) as along as I can remember, and now that I have started with my
first bike, well lets just say the rest is history lol. I will post new pics as I go along. Well hope to hear form you all from time to time, and I will be on
here when ever I can. Your Friend and Bro Don Darnell
