ft, 73 carbs for side covers |
Lead | |
|
i have an extra set of carbs off of a 73 i picked up along the way in parts buy... i KNOW this is a chopper site and a lot of you have gotten ride of your side
covers, but thats what im lookin for, so if anyone has some in decent condition im lookin to trade. im building more of a drag/street bike and focusing on the
motor internals instead of frame, front end etc... i have another chop thats already done anyhow. so yeah, side covers for a set of carbs. they are dirty, but
all the jets, floats, and needles are there... so they are complete. i can/will take photos for whoever is interested. im lookin for covers that arent broken
at all... paint doesnt matter although, if they are the stock sunburst orange... thats a bonus.... prefer the emblems but not to worried too much if they are
gone. get at me and let me know. this site and you guys have been more than helpful with my wiring too, so thanks for that as well, heres my offerings.

You may want to pop the bowls off and take a picture of the inside.
If there's too much corrosion in there you may have a 4 cylinder paper weight instead of a rack of rebuildable carbs.

alright, dtmmil, i need 74 or 69-76 k model side covers...... steve, i have carbs and need covers. the carbs have had the typical gas set in them when parked
however long ago. im no expert on how "bad" these are, so you guys should take a look. i took a toothbrush and it rubbed off most of the crud in
there. they could take a bath in some carb cleaner...

Not a paperweight. Should clean up.
When you open them up and it looks like caked up soap powder inside; Almost always terminal!

thanks, i just wasnt sure about the floats, beings as delicate as they are. two are good two are glossed with gas. i know the other stuff will clean off...
just some elbow grease. if i dont get any takers on here, might blast them with some baking soda on the outsides and scrub the insides. just need side covers.
feels thats a fair trade...

I've got 73k side covers that I'm willing to trade. Will those carbs work on a 73K? Anyone know? I'm working on my first rebuild.

They will work on a 73k with a good cleaning and rebuild
