Ok, I have a lightened alt/rotor on the way, by the way the book explains it I just use the tool to press the old one off and reinstall and tighten the center
bolt to hold the new one on? Is there a torque for this bolt? Whats the best way to hold the alt/rotor while doing this? thanks

i think it is the oil filter bolt that screws into the end of the rotor to help pull it off........it should just pop right off.....might need to give a little
tap to break the stiction.
not sure what the technical torque value is.........I just "tightened it on"!!!LOL!!! |

When I took mine off it was so tight that I had to put a pretty good sized puller on it. It still wouldn't come off, so I put a torch on it. Just about
the time my brain said "FUCK" it popped off and scared the shit out of me. Take it easy. Julio

Thanks guys, the lightened rotor comes with the puller so I will have that. I read through the manual and it just says " tighten securely" well
apparently my securely is more than others, I have broken a lot of stuff making sure it was secure enough! haha. Now just to wait till it shows! thanks again

I just give it a couple burps with a 3/8" impact wrench.
Never had one come off.

stock vs lightened
top view bottom view minus the starter clutch stuff. And a couple blips with the impact and it popped right off, and on. thanks for the help! I just got it together and I weighed each of them, stock vs lightened, according to my bathroom scale the stocker was 7.0lbs and the lightened one is 3.5lbs. WOW!
