Miss Becky and me have a friend that is in the bike club we use to be in. He is an active duty Lt Col in the US Army...I ask him what he needed over in Afghanistan.... Here is the E-mail we got. We are working with some other folks to send boxes of stuff to him... If youd like to help our torrops out, heres some of the stuff they could use and the addy to send it to. Neal is one straight up HONORABLE cat!! he refused to stay home after going over 3 times,,, If his guys had to go to Afghanistan, he was going....and he has..... We love the hell outta this cat and his family------- We call him TWOSTEP---- Super guy!!!

Some have asked what I (we) need. Most of the common items (toiletries) etc are well stocked. Food items are plentiful

Some of the items that would really help us and make living a little more comfortable.

*foam egg crate mattress pads (twin bed). Most Soldiers are on cots orHARD local purchased mattresses.
*matteress cover (twin bed). Many of the mattresses are OLD and been through many rotations of Soldiers
*a few of those wall hooks that you can stick to the wall with no holes. For hanging towels, head gear etc
*triple edge razors. the dirt and grim eat up single and double razors
*shaving cream (gel)

Other good items that the Soldiers like.. peanuts are always good (boiled and roasted). pork skins, cigars (Backwoods, Tampa Jewels, Swishers etc)

Most of the first items I listed are HARD to get here, and should be available at any WalMart. But they will make life a little more comfortable for the Soldiers. I know items like the mattress pad may be a little more to send, but maybe it'll be cheaper than many smaller packages. We are not asking for one person to get all of this, but maybe one or two can go in on an item or two. I'll be sure to take pictures when your items come in, and send you or your group copies
