Solved my rough running issue.
I did all the right stuff, cam chain tensioner, valves, new plugs properly gapped, plug test, new points gapped, timing, bench sync'd the carbs
(haven't synced 'em properly yet though). Had a good spark on all 4 cylinders... but occasionally it would still run like crap, misfiring, no power.
The hot lead to the #2/3 coil had a break in it back near the chain guard, shutting down those two cylinders intermittently.

Dude, I feel you I had the same problem with the coil wires. I actually decided to run new the blue & yellow wires new and still the same thing. It turned
out (2 months later) that the 2 wires that run from the 2 condenser on the timing plate, which ran into the engine by the starter; had the clips loose so they
would shake. All that work and all I had to do was crimp then a little tighter with pliers.
