No longer for sale!!! Finned tappet covers |
Lead | |
|
I cleaned them up and put them on my bike. The previous owner had painted them, so with a little elbow grease they turned out pretty damn nice.

I almost went through the ceiling but they are not the ones I really love the most. The ones I love the most are those ones that have the fins going vertical
now those are the kind that really get me antcy. I recently got a whole motor a sohc cb 750 that had all of that kind I love so much so I bought the motor
mostly for the tappet covers all for 20.00 whaqt a screamer and it just so happens that the motor turns over great with no funky noises

I got a set of them | ||

I just got a set of them valve adjustment covers but some of the seals aren't there I did go to the one of our auto parts store but all they have is the O
ring type what mine use is a flat washer like seal. Anybody know what would work with these types of covers? GodBless America MDM72CHOP

Actually now that you mention that, one of these I made one out of thin cardboard, one was broken when I got them.

You should replace all the gaskets whith O-rings on these type of covers. The flat rubber ones leak like the titanic all over the place. I replaced them with
O-rings and they don't hardly leak at all.
If your lookin for these finned covers new you can get them from Cycle X for $39 plus shipping.

I didn't know they were that cheap new, whoops, hows $25 shipped then. And on yours are the bottoms flat? I didn't think an o-ring would work because
there is no recess, I figured it would just squish out when tightened.

yeah flat but you don't need to crank on them for em to be tight. The other flat rubber ones slide out with very little tightning. The o-rings start to get
flat then the seal is good and tight. They seem to work better for me.
