ok, so there's a hole in my cases - near the main drive sproket... I put one of the cyclex offset front sprokets, and I needed to shave a hair off the
wall next to the chain - which I did, and accidentially ground a hole into the cases... the shop where I've been working on the bike had some aluminum
repair stuff, sort of like jbweld - but made special for aluminum, it's a two part epoxy type thing... we patched the hole (which was about the size of a
nickle) and it feels solid... oh, and it's rated high temp (for use on engines or something)
at some point, when I tear my bike down for paint, I'm gonna tear the motor down too, and have it welded professionaly to fix the hole. My main concern is
do you think it'd be safe to use for a while, and are the cases under pressure, so I'd have to worry about it blowing out?
second question would be, the wall where I made the hole, is there anything important behind there? if not then I think when I tear it down to weld the hole,
I'll have it made like a 16th to an 8th of an inch wider...
thanks in advance!
