I just inherited a 72 CB500. It was my uncles and when he passed away it went to his best friend. By chance I ran into him and he offered the bike to me. I
have rode for years but have never taken on a custom chop. My uncles friend purchased a hard tail frame and completely tore the bike apart. I received it in
pieces. From what I can tell, most of the parts are present. I did notice that I'm missing a few parts though. I was wondering if anyone out there has
done a 500 FOUR chop and if so do you have any extra parts left over. Mostly frame parts....Kick Stand, rear drum brake stationary bar, foot peg, head light
fork mounting brackets, and a few others. Since 500 FOUR's don't use an oil resevior, I was thinking of making one anyway to store all of the
electronics in. Has anyone ever done this before? Any suggestions? I have a new set of forks that are 6 inches longer than the stock ones and I'm hoping
this will raise the bike off the ground more. As of now, with the stock rims and tires, the bike only sits about 3" off the ground. Anybody have any
experience with this? Any help or suggestions would definetley help. Thanks.
