That part is easy. It's a little like electric-less plating.

I keep a bunch of fugly magnets in a box. I put the honda carbs on top, close the box, and leave it overnight. By morning all the fugly has slithered off the honda carbs and onto the fugly prone stuff at the bottom.

When the fugly magnets have absorbed as much fugly as they can I sell them on eBay as rare vintage parts and track down a new batch.

I'd rather give someone a tool than a solution. Give them an answer and they'll always expect it. Teach them how to find the answers for themselves and they will spend a lifetime learning.
