I've heard of people running a narrower series chain to help these big tire offset issues and it was the final piece to the puzzle of alignment.
I'd spend large for quality though when going narrower.
There's not much room for offset sprockets on the motor end of things and going small on the front sprocket for more clearance can lead to chain binding. Just a few variables to keep in mind.
