This is my thought as well. 

I'd first check what Tommy mentioned. Put it in neutral and make sure the back wheel spins freely. Next thing I would check is with it in gear and clutch pulled in. Does the rear wheel still spin? Then I would pull the plugs and try and get it in 4th or 5th and see if you can spin the motor that way. If you can't even change gears then it's definitely something in the tranny I'd think.
