The brass bushings, should bottom out on each other alowing you to lock down the nuts tight..

for example..say your rockers are 1/4inch thick..the two bushings when butted up to each other, should slightly exceed that 1/4 inch..letting you lock down the nuts without it binding on the rockers..then, the bushing will pivot so to seak, in the rockers..

so..you want bushing the slide smoothly into the holes in your rockers, and, bushings that when butted up together slightly exceed the thickness of your rockers, and you`ll be all set..
