Here is my advise before you reassemble... If you tensioner roller and guide are worn, replace them now. If you cam chain is wore, replace it now. It'sa lot easier to do now than tearing the engine back apart in 1000 miles after you notice an excessive amount of cam chain noise.

Also when torquing the cam down... I always do this with the rockers removed. If the rockers are installed, you will have some pressure on the cam towers and may not get a good uniform torque. Also use thread sealer on these cam tower bolts as some of the thread passages go through to the fins and will cause annoying leaks.

Don't be a bone head andmake the same mistake that so many make... the 4 bolts under the nickle washers and the bolt in the front and rear of the head are 6mm and are not torqued to the same spec of the studs. If you try this you will strip out each one of them. While we are on the subject, get a inch pound torque wrench.

Don't forget to install O rings in the jugs and under the cam tower where the oil restrictors are. Also make sure the restrictors are clean and clear.

I recommend lapping the valves and replacing the valve seals while the head is off. It doesn't take a lot of time or cost a lot but it will help seal up the engine and maximixe your compression.

If your pistons and combustion chamber on the head are dirty with carbon, clean them up.

Gaskets... use the correct size head gasket. If it is overbored then use the correct size. I also recommend buying some copper gasket spray (like spray paint) and coat the head gasket for better sealing.

Good luck!
