I have known ppl to use jb weld on carb cracks, and works good...I also have a bro who used a putty (cant remember the name) that you mix by hand, and gets rock hard after a few minutes. lasts for quite a while. He used it on a Suzuki carb. I used the putty on an oil pan on my van.The leak was a small hole in the oil pan ,  a lil bigger in diameter than a pencil eraser. It sealed the leak for 5 years. I sold the van, and the guy who bought it told me said it held up for another 2 years for him till he rebuilt the engine.

Even a tramp like me, no matter what happens, I know there's always a brother who won't refuse me a bowl of soup. - Tuco
