Alan.. don't you have the before pics of that motor that had the Wayne-and-son treatment done to it...???
At some point in that deal.. someone posted pics of what it looked like when Ken disassembled it..
Those are a perfect example of the problem thats being presented here....
Overkill with a capitol O...
Way too much goop and it would ball up inside the covers and distribute itself through the motor..
Why do you guys put anything on the gaskets..???
When I put covers back on after plating, I use new gaskets .. dry, usually with no problem..
If there is a leak .. then I fix the problem with the surface, or use a good cover..
I don't even have a tube of that Gorilla Snot anywhere near me.. ever..
They make provisions for the alignment dowls in each cover and thats all you really need to line up the gaskets..
If I've ever had a problem holding a gasket in place (like maybe a water pump on a car..) then maybe a light coat of spray tac.. but thats it..




Build it the way you want it ..... then learn how to ride it like you own it..
