ive had the old style tire changers kick my ass before. the ones that look like a big box, you put the tire on it then screw the nut in the center and then the bar goes over the center and spins. was putting a tire on, damn thing got in a bind so i let go of the bar and smacked the edge of the tire with a sledge, when it came loose the bar flipped over and about snapped my forearm in two.

had one dipshit that was changing a set of four, instead of pulling the vavle stem, he would just take his knife and stab em. well one day he was doing this, and the customer had like 80lbs in his tire, when he stabbed it the damn thing exploded and took the mechanix glove right off his had and the knife stuck in the wall about 3 ft from my head. Then another time he wasnt paying attention and put a 16.5 tire on a 16 rim, aired it up and just about the time he got 30 lbs of air in it, it came up off the rim, he went home early that day, i think to change his pants...lol

A lot of people look at tires as a simple fix, which for the most part they are, but the can be just as dangerous as anything else on a car if you dont take the time to do it right.

if in doubt, KONG it!!!
