Thanks for the welcome Sasquatch.  Let's talk about my "boots" but first, since I'm new to this forum let me introduce myself.  Friends call me Wompy and I've been a toolmaker now for 15 years. I've owned dirtbikes, custom vw's, but always  wanted a chopper but never really cared for the v-twin. I finally got a '74 cb750 chop a couple years ago but had to sell it due to financial reasons. I currently own a '79 KZ650 short chop which I finished in October and I've I put about 1500 miles on so far. Custom pieces on this bike include stainless bars, brake pedal, sissybar, custom floating rotor hat and caliper brackets fr $& rr, 6-piston tokico caliper and tree-mounted radial m/c.
I joined this forum not to sell my wares but to check out your tech forum since I'm trying to get myself another cb and want to learn as much as possible b4 I tear into it. My friend  Duane commented that I should sell these on here since I made him some stacks for his Pink Taco bike.
Anyhow here are some specs for you guys interested . These are not rubber boots but made of delrin CNC machined with a groove on the ID allowing them to snap onto your keihin carbs and held by snapping hose clamps (included) . Again I've put about 1500 miles, popped them on and off to adjust my carbs, gone through rain and sun to make sure these things won't break b4 I even begin to sell them. I can't say these will give you more hp or are better than pods, but if you're running emgo pods or other cheap pods and wanted some K&N pods, you've seen how pricey they are-$42 each.
I make these for the guy wanting something different than pods. Assembed they add about 2.75" from the end of the carb rack. The filters are K&N model #RC-2380 and sell for $38 each.  I've tried to get a distributorship through them but since I don't own a retail shop I was denied.
Here's a pic of the autocad design so you can see the air swoop inside more clearly:
