Termite.. You can anodize the cast carb bodies successfully..???
Can you anodize all cast alloy parts now..??
Back when annodizing was something that was fairly popular on custom bikes (the 70s and 80s especialy), you could only anodize billet parts and very few of the better type castings.
Most castings would come out with very uneven, blotchy and dull surfaces..
For instance, I tried a bunch of various cast parts a few times, just to see ow they would come out..
All the motor covers came out like crap.. but the factory handlebar master cyl. cover came out beautiful... Supposedly, a better casting..
As I understand it.. I believe annodizing was originally intended to be a corrsion resistant process as well as increasing the size of a part that was worn. I believe thats what they do to blower rotors after extreme use. They either anodize the rotor or the case to reduce the tolerances that result from wear.
I also thought that anodizing became part of the surface itself, sort of like a dye ..
I've never seen or heard of anodizing chipping or peeling off.. like I have paint or chrome that are basically a surface over another surface..
I really hope that anodizing has been developed to be able to use on all types of alloy, billet or cast.. That would be awesome..

Build it the way you want it ..... then learn how to ride it like you own it..
