I agree with all the post comments.

the biggest problem you are going to have is knock..

you'll need to have some sort of adjust able ignition to get the advance and retart scanaior happening..

The engine's i've built. i've used stock rods.. had them shot peened... don't really know what difference it made to the engine.. they never borke.. but i guess it depends on what power output you want to achieve..

with the CR thats also dependant on a couple of factors...

I've used CR's as low as 7.5/1 on bigger HP engines (running 24~28psi)

but on other engines using smaller turbines i've used 8.5 sometimes even 9/1 but the engines don't typically like overboosting in those situations..

the good note on running bigger comp is that you'll get less initial lag but then this can be overcome by getting a Bearing turbo, get it spooling to speed faster.

downside of bigger CR.. boost will be limited to what you're head gasket and internals can ultimately hold. and you'll stretch the shitter out of the headbolts as well as needing a stoopid timing so it probably won't wanna idle too well!
hahah

but.. as i've always said... if you're not chasing massive HP.. you're stock internals will be ok... providing you can keep the fuel mix right and the timing right.

90% of the problems associated with people sticking a snail onto the side of an engine is that have no idea how to tune the thing.. they say... yeah man.... more boost = more power...

wind the waste gate up to hell.

then.. when they least expect it... bang....... engine leans out cause of poor fuel tuning or dodgy ignition systems...

but to be realistic.. me personally..
i'd rather have 10 more HP across a wider range.. then 50 more in a rev range that i'm never going to hit..

you'll see cars with 600hp @ 7200prm..!!!! yeah... real streetable...... a lot of people doing this are just horsepower hero's....

I was going to build a 300ZX with a quad sequential turbo setup .. just to have like 160rwKw from 1500 to 6000rpm.... much more useable power.

i hope this will help.

i guess in short.. you just need to figure out what you want your end result to be.. and go back from there..

cheers
