When you push down are the carbs moving or just the slider linkage?

Linkage moves freely when bike is off but sticks when running usually means weak return spring.

If the idle screws are solid usually 1-1/2 turns or a little more, likely about 2. If the idle screws are the hollow ones usually 1/8 to 3/8 turns.

I'd rather give someone a tool than a solution. Give them an answer and they'll always expect it. Teach them how to find the answers for themselves and they will spend a lifetime learning.
