Well, what is it?
( Everyone hates half a rub job.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.

Why is it that an oil painting of boobies is art and a photograph of boobies is porn?

Makes sense. I was wondering if you were insulating the inside of the pipes somehow since it wasn't on the outside in the pics.

i had a chevette in high school that had one carb and no intake heater, the thing ran like a top and was awesome in the winter, so (mabey I'm dumb) why
wont one larger carb work?

....I don't know any reason why a larger carb wouldn't work.. You would just have to be careful and not go to large(wouldn't that be
nice
...Houndog, there are a couple of other tidbits about the inside of the runners that make them work properly also...The outsides are more for added support for the runners and carbs.....And to loooook gooood.....

just like looking for a turbo charger for a certain size CC, I'm going to find a Chevette carb and do some tinkering.

It's no doubt one carb will work. I had a Fiat 850 Spyder that ran single carb. Unlike clunky American desingns for 4 or 6 cyl inline intakes, the
fiat's outer two tunnels had a smaller internal ID. By volume the cylinders were nearly equal distances from the carb.
The inherent flaw with POSA systems is the unequal distance between jugs and carb along with the fact that unatomized fuel runs directly into 2/3 since they are closest and often slightly downhill never making it to 1/4. That is where the idle issues come in. The intake I made actually made contact with the intake spigots so only the rear of the intake would sweat, and unatomized fuel would vaporize as it approached the jugs due to the transfer of heat from head to intake. The ideal carb would be a CV for about the same overall bore. This way fuel mixture delivery is metered by air flow (vacuum created by demand), not throat size (butterfly or slider position).

Posa carbs were for racing that and for airplanes. They have different needles for the type of performance you want.. I have 3 carbs a single and dual setup
plus the needles and the paper on setting up the carb. In the 70's that was the carb to run I was there and know 1st hand. As far as fuel only running to
2/3 is bull You know anything about intake and exhaust ??? 1 pulls and the other sucks... I found when useing the single carb 1/4 were to rich..
life is but a single grain of sand in the hour glass of time

Well, I stand corrected in most humble fashion, don't I.
Actually I ran THREE different POSA systems before I built my setup. Kick ass balls to the wall racing rigs, but still not well balanced for reasons I stated above. Not so hot for anyone actually wanting to ride a bike for anything other than that. Flat slide carbs, round slide, and CV, did them all. Yes, I had the complete set of needles, jets, and in the case of the CV, the different springs also for most of the combinations I ran. I ran both end mount and center mount. Never could get my hands on a dual mount setup. 2/3 ran rich in town and at idle on the center mount rigs I ran. I have only seen two end mount and on that one the end jug ran rich at low RPMs. The differences were reduced at speed with more velocity in the intake. Stumpdog, I don't think I have any closeups of the intake, but I'll look in the old photo albums.
