Posts: 16 (05/19/08 7:10 PM) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	WEll I got a great deal on a vintage AMEN sacior Frame along with matching oil tank and springer front end... Needs TLC but Im wiling to do it. ANYWAY... I drive three hours each way to bring this gem home and I start to dismantle it.. Around 9:30pm I finally puill the engine out of the frame. I was about to start to put the new one in and something runs between my buddies legs and under the tool box. Thought it was a rat but my friewnd saw it and said it was a young opossum.. OKAAAay... now The radio is going and the lights are on and I have lights going on outside too. So I am wondering to myself why the ellis a nocturnal animal coming in to a well lit area? Rabies? Time to go for tonight....... So I figured I was going to set up a snap rat trap for this M 'fer in case he came back.. so I was going to town on the bike again and for some reaeson I thought to myself I wonder if this friggin thing is outside somewhere. so I look outside and come in and this friggin thing comes in and follows the same route as last night... well it go caught in the trap...temporarily.. I watched it squirm and move and squirm and get itself free. Now this thing is about the size of a rat so I fugured a trap would do the trick... I thought about smashing the hell out of it but it would probaly get messy and I didn;t know what to grab... I am soooo fuckin frustrated.... obviously this thing has a home in my workspace.. Ok I accept that... but why the hell is this thing coming in when the lights are bright as hell and the radio sounds like there is a small concert going on.... you guys think this thing has rabies? I guess I;m going to have to buy a trap and kill everything the trap catches..... man I'm pissed//////////

I really know I was trapped in my garage by one!!!! no shit true story. I had to call the police and a guy came out with a 12 guage. he chased it out so I could get out, and then.......here it comes........he takes 4 shots to kill this medium dog size bastard!!!!!!! the first 2 missed,BTW he was only 5 ft from it, the third one grazed it and then he was going to shoot it against a tree.....point blank!!!! I told him if he was smart..lol... he would side step the tree and then shoot it cause the shot prolly would of ricoched off of the tree and hit him. Then he said "Oh ok". anyway the 4th shot killed it and we put it in a trash bag. I asked if they were going to take it to the conversation station to make sure that it was rabies and document where it was and such......"No we are going to throw it in the dumpster"!!!!! Here we go 1000's of stray cats and dogs in the town eating rotten shit.....then we have 1000's of rabies cases in town. what a bunch of moreons...........lol

Been creeped out by them before, not all that menacing until they stop, turn, and hiss at you...darn things have teeth that rival those of a small gator... I've caught them by putting some rotten foodstuffs in a plastic garbage can, making a ramp up to the top where they can get in....they can't jump out and the sides are too slick to let them crawl back up. Caught two in one night, I guess they each thought the other was responsible for their being trapped, they had clawed, bitten, and tore each other into a bloody mess, put the lid on the can, drove out to the edge of town and dumped them. Ethical? probably not, but they weren't my problem anymore, and the garbage was bio-degradable :P Might be a cheap and easy way to get rid of yours without damaging anything you place value on... I don't have many problems with them anymore, the neighbor's "spawn of the antichrist" cat stalks and kills them.

Anyway, though, my buddy's got the best varmint gun. It's a Taurus handgun that's chambered for Colt .45 long rifle rounds and 410-shotgun shells with a 3" barrell. A 410 shell full of shot, coming from a 3" barrell takes out anything smaller than a freakin deer

Give him a one way trip out of town. I suspect though, judging by the size of the critter that he will have family close, you may not be seeing the same one.
