I have this pair of triangle lights and I decided to convert one of them to a halogen bulb 55/65w..took almost nothing to convert it and you cant see any
external difference...so now I have this really really freaking bright light that shines everywhere but forward...everything around me is bright as hell, but
there is just this huge black hole right in front...maybe I can make some sort of reflector for it or something...trying to run it for the whcm, but if its
that bad I will stick with my normal round light....at least i could see with it on.

But they look really cool while they're sucking.

The day after the first night ride with mine I took it off. I wish there was some way to improve on it. I did the same halogen conversion you tried with mine
also. I could see the front tire fantastic. Beyond that though was like some kind of hellish carnival ride through the dark. - Duane

I dont care much for riding at night due to animals and not having the control of a normal bike to avoid them, but I need to be able to see...working on fixing
it, but just dont know yet....hell the damn bulb cost me $47 to find one that would fit it and be bright...halogen conversion for a 1929 MG...love the lights,
but not if I cant see...I mean that is the point of a headlight is it not?

It's gonna be hard to find or make a reflector with the correct "dish" to put the focused beam where you want it.
personally, with th etime crunch and the other stuff you got going, I'd shelve it till after the meet rather than waste alot of time on something that may not end up working for you anyway. kinda what I'm gonna do......there are other things I wanted to do before the meet, but I just don't have time.....the necessities get my attention fitrst. |

I wonder if the new Repops that Ken is selling are better? They are a new design with more depth than the original.
IMHO they look a little clumsy from the side, but if you can bury them between the forks they might look okay. RR
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

I'm wondering if Ken's repop lenses will fit older buckets. I've got a blue AEE triangle light and the lense is cracked.

would you ever consider selling the blue one?
as for the repops...theya re supposed to have a better reflector, but I think its the clear spot in the lens thats the main problem..im not worried about getting it to work before the meet...I didnt expect the problem, but im not worried about it. I will use my normal round one and be happy that i can see. |

I've had the same problem with mine, I didn't buy the high dollar light though, I took one of the off road bulbs and found a washer to fit around it
and put two screws in it, but like you I have bright light covering the whole road just not very far out. I've been thinking of getting a busted plastic
headlight out of a car and cutting out a reflector.
