damien i wouldn't use any thing that's too strong .i've used all kinds of degreasers and some are pretty harsh on chrome and polished aluminum.i
know it sounds funny but i've used citrus orange cleaner with a little water.a good spounge and the right cleaner you'll be set.mild soap and water is
the safest bet.if you've got a grease problem try cutting down the degreaser first and go at it slow in crease the strength as you need it.hope that this
is a little help. lenny aka bones

I just use gasoline & a parts cleaning brush, then a final rinse with a can or 2 of carb cleaner.

oil eater and that foaming engine cleaner with every kind of nylon brush possible. i also use those plastic putty knives on the gunk around the sprocket.
that's to clean the dirt and grime off the surface. to remove any paint, i've used aircraft stripper, nylon brush wheels in a die grinder, brass bristle tube brushes (like rifle bore brushes), and an air file with wood paddle/sandpaper attachment. get creative. n

whatever you do DO NOT USE RUBBERMAID DEGREASER
If you can't tell it's not a Harley, I won't tell you it's a Honda.

"DO NOT USE RUBBERMAID DEGREASER "I would think that if you need to de-grease your rubber maid, you're using her a little too harshly........ I took mine to the car wash. I sprayed it with that foamy green degreaser stuff that i got at Autozone, then blasted it with the carwash wand. you really have to let it dry good after that if you intend to use any paint on it. |
