Crusher, what amp breaker is it that keeps blowing?
Yeah extension cords are a killer!! you end up pulling alota amps through a lenth of cord.. what I did for my weldor, and sometimes air compresor, was get about 20ft of 12-2, and put a receptical on one end, and a real heavy duty plug on the other (basicaly made my own real heavy duty extension cord)..worked pretty good, but ya need a suficient breaker to boot.. another thing that may help, is be sure the compressor is completly empty when it kicks on "the first time"..especially if its a bit chilly in them parts..seams as though once they`ve ran for a few filling up the first time, they warm up a bit and take off easier when they need to "top up".. lastly, if you can, plug it into the closest outlet to your breaker box..that should really help alot!! 74rat when in doubt..knock`um out...H.C.C.M.F LOCAL 6978 Flint Michigan..3rd most dangerous city in the USA..come back and visit us..sorry we "missed" you the first time..LOL |

Finally got a shot of the old compressor. I used that thing for about 5 years,
and it was the motor that shot craps, the rest just kept going.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.
Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say. |

yeh the plan is to come off the box with a new braker and run thhn wires over to the carport through conduit
I do have a open plug by the breaker box , but it is on the opisite side and drop a couple plugs for christmas lights along the way but as anything else around here it takes time to get me started on a project as I keep my hands pretty full w/ taking care of Ms.Linda |

Crusher, I feel your pain with blown breakers. I got tired of running back to the panel
every ten minutes myself and ran a new 100amp sub panel out to the shop just for the compressor, welders and bench receptacles! I left the lights, AC and exhaust fan on the old circuits! No more running back to the house, unless I got to take a shit!
