anyway the motor only has about 2,500 miles on it since the ground up stock rebuild........I thought the head gasket was seeping a little, so I figured I'd just go ahead and retorque the nuts and bolts while I had the cover off.
I'm kinda thinkin what I should have done was loosen the nuts to break the hold on the washers, then retorque to spec.
what I did was use the torque wrench to break the hold, then continued turning to the top of the spec....which was I think around 16ftlbs for the nuts and 6ftlbs for the bolts.
I'm also thinkin about the studs being 30years old also, maybe the stretch will mitigate some of the possible overtorque?????
so the milIion dollar question: Is this gonna be an "overtightened" head???????
