need longer axle |

well I missed this somehow, but when I reassembled the rear end of the santee im working on I found that the axel really needs to be a little longer. there is
only about 1/2" of threads sticking out and a washer and nut have to go on this...dont trust that. ...I can buy some stock harley axels for $50 or less
that will fit, but I have to change my bearings out...I have the bearings too...should I do this or just have a 20mm axle made? where can I find one and how
much? I need the smooth part to be 10.25" long...then threads.

Hey Swish, I got one that's 11" to the start of the threads if it'll help!
Came off a 82 I think. |

OLDHIPPY can make you whatever you need. About$60 I think. Do a search for OLDHIPPY to come up with the info. If you plan it right, I think you can use some
sort of "covering nut" to pretty it up - workingclass choppers has something like i am typing about.
RnT's could work if you can either space it a little on both sides or add some more thread. I had posted questions about using a DOHC axle a few weeks ago before I found my Savior axle.... I'm finding a lot of crap these daze.... except what i am looking for.... DOH, I am missing the axle for my Kaw Savior. "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." A CBR axel is longer than a stock and the same O.D. as a CB750. I have one if you need it or want to try it. |
