I would like to upgrade my steering bearings, In previous knowledge on bearings, going to a sealed unit the cups where always needed to be changed to fit the
diffrent curves of the bearings. Does this application apply as well? Or, does the stock bearings cups work? Any help would be hella rad. Thanks again.

Yup, you will have to get rid of the original races in the frame and replace the race on the stem with the timken style bearing. You can get the kits from LRT.
