So, when I push my bike and turn the wheel the brake locks up. When I turn it straight
again to frees up. I don't have any noticeable braking during a slow turn but I'm sure it happens while riding also. I'm thinking a bearing
problem. I need some confirmation or a new direction to fix it.

Fist thing I would check is a kinked hose. Is a brake line pinching when you turn the bars?

Are you sure it is the brake and not a binding in the axle/bearing?
Pull the caliper off the rotor and see if you get the same thing while pushing. put a paint stick in the caliper incase the piston is closing it.

I'd say your prolly pinching yoru hose and or cable in between the triple trees and tank or frame.

Sorry, I haven't been able to get back to it since I asked. It's at my old place and it's best to go there when the soon to be ex and her boyfriend
aren't! It isn't pretty but it cool! At least she's being cool about my stuff that's still in the garage. This weekend the stocker will be in
it's new home. Now, getting the chopped up project from the garage to my new basement may take a while!

Alright peeps I'm sure that I've got it figured out, though I haven't been able to test it. As I had stated earlier, my wife and I have split and
she's move another guy in so it's been difficult to get things done while avoiding a confrontation. I filed for divorce and she got pissed (why I have
no idea) and then gave me until Sunday to my stuff out of the garage. So, Saturday I moved everything, but the bike wouldn't start. The lights wouldn't
come on. I chased it down to the ignition switch and hot wired it to get it out of there. Luckily I didn't have far to go as the was all squirmy. Nothing
too bad but very noticeable. I was too darn tired from moving all that crap so I didn't get to it until yesterday. Turns out that the bolts holding the
front wheel on were loose, so I tightened them up. That will most likely take care of the problem, but I couldn't check it out as the bike needs the carb
synced and it's beyond me at this point.
I'm going to take in to get raped on having a "pro" take care of it. I've just got to get on the road. Sorry about the delay in determining the problem but there it is. L8r Mice Elf (Hyzn8r) |
