Real easy way to make a "bracket" to bolt down the starter cover.....
With the starter removed run some bolts (all thread) down through the cover holes that are long enough to bottom out,
hold them straight up, then lightly whack 'em with a hammer to leave some marks on the case.
Thread about 4 or 5 nuts on the end of the all thread, nice and tight together with all the flat
sides matching. You should be able to set the all thread (nuts down) right on your peen marks,
one is on a curved surface so you might have to stack 2 washers or something under the nuts/all thread.
So when you get em balanced, sticking straight up in the air, slowly apply some of that foaming Loctite glue
or Gorilla glue around the nuts. On the nuts, let it run down them.
Once you do that, slowly fill up the bottom of the cavity level with the top of the nuts.
Go slow cause it does expand.
When it dries unscrew the all thread out of the nuts sunk in the glue. Sand and paint.
Then you can pop the lid on, screw in the all thread, and cap em with some decorative nuts/pikes.
This might sound whack but it is hella strong for holding on a cover, and looks pretty trick/clean inside.
