Ok you guyz .. this post is starting to go in circles a bit...
You need to figure this out in an order .. so to speak...
1) Is the 16 wheel you have now .. actually a 16x4 ..?? That is .. does it measure 4" between the inside edges of the bead lips ..?? Thats not a very common wheel setup .. quite possible .. just not common ... If so .. you are good to go up to a 160x16 tire ...or about a 6.5" wide tire (when mounted on a 4" rim..) Then you just need to buy the brake setup and tire .. rthats it ..
2) If you really want a 180 or 200 tire .. you'll need to discard that wheel.. (economically speaking..) You can buy a new 16x5.5 some places for under $200 (cheaper than changing your present rim).. Then you still need to buy the brake setup .. as with the 16 you have ..
3) If you still want a 180 or 200 tire .. only cheaper .. you should start with a 750 hub ..69-78 K model drum brake.. These can be had pretty cheap ... also .. pick up a 77-78 cush drive to go with it.. (1/2" wider..) Then convert it .. (5.5 or 6 rim $140 ..Spokes:.. $90... Lace and true:... $80) .. Thats like $300/$310 with brakes and all .. ready to go..
4) I would suggest sticking with a 180 rather than a 200 .. Very, very close in width .. yet a little less stress when lining up sprockets ...
And last .. but not least .. I can get all these parts for you...
(shameless plug ..)
