Since we seem to have so many empty houses due to the foreclosure fiasco nation wide.. We have a ton of empty, unattended houses ..
They actually have gangs of people that raid these places for the copper under the walls . They've shown pictures of houses with huge holes blasted in the walls to access the plumbing and electrics ... The cut water and gas lines without shutting them off.. leaving them open ..
We even have a special task force of our police department here .. just to deal with these thefts.....
In my rant about the platers above .. My plater was telling me how a plater he uses had their nickel tanks stolen .. and taken in for scrap.. He says the tanks easily cost like $30k to setup with the nickel .. Of course that's not the scrap price . but the new.. raw price ..
