Mic, just give him 110% because that's what he'll give it!
Hondachopperhedz are a stubborn breed and don't give up on anything! Especially our family, bikes and great girls like you! But, with all theses injuries you may have to polish his wheels for him for quite some time! Keep the faith girl, he'll make it. Make sure you let his mama know that all of his Bro's are praying for him. It may help give her strength also. May God bless you RedMavrik |

Well another day passes....
He is still in a coma and still seemingly the same. I got to read the police report yesterday. Well, a copy of it. Seems he was working on an electrical truck owned by Rock Energy Cooperative. He was all alone, and had been there for several hours. The police said that there were emergency cones and signs placed by the workers but no one was there. He was working under the truck when a SUV lost control and hit the rear of the electrical truck. It pushed the truck into the ditch and over some trees. The police said the driver of the SUV was drunk and driving extremely fast. The driver was trying to get out of the car with the seatbelt still on when the police arrived. I started crying when it said that Joe pulled himself 30 feet to his truck to get his phone to call 911. They said that he was awake in the helicopter for most of the ride to the hospital. The EMT said Joe was nothing but sarcastic to all of his questions. It was only when they were landing that he passed out. We got word from the police that the driver pleaded no contest to the DUI charge and is currently in jail. The charges of attempted vehicular manslaughter are still on hold until Joe wakes up to give a statement. His uncle is a prosecutor in Chicago and says that they can charge the drunk driver for up to 10 years from now. He says it's cruel, but they are probably waiting until Joe either wakes up or passes away to amend the charges. That made me start crying again. Most of his family is blunt so I guessed I should've seen it coming. Either way this is a terrible thing and I hope he wakes up soon. This is very hard for me and his family. There is no one to run his businesses as he did that all by himself. It is especially hard for people like you who have been ignored only to discover the bad news. And your response has been overwhelming. For that I thank you immensely. I'm told there is still a front fender and head that needs to find an owner. If any of you know how I can contact the owner I'd be happy to ship it to them. I'm also told that they go to the same person?? But there is no address that we can see on the boxes. Please, any help will be extremely appreciated. Also - Phil (oldhemi) I am going to ship your box tomorrow (monday) if that's ok? There are some drawings that Joe had placed with it, I made a copy of them for you. His friend Shawn said that they were for you as well. Thank you very much for being so patient. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Again thank you all very much. Mic. |

Thanks Mic for the updates. We are all pulling for him. I am much more optimistic on his chance of recovery after you posted that the Doc's induced the
coma. I am glad that it was not caused by the concussion.
Just a suggestion: His cell is disconnected which is understandable since he had been in a coma for a month. I am thinking that maybe you could go thru his mail and see if there is anything that is needing to be done. Some of the regular bills - those folks need to be notified as to his condition. I would hate to see him wake up and find something repo'd or lost/confiscated due to non-payment. I am not saying pay his bills, but take a look and notify the proper folks. Usaully notification is enough to keep the wolves at bay. Someone should have some "say" or POA. Also, you might ask to be put on "allowed" folks - its the new HIPPA rules. When my mom was in the hospital a few years ago, I was not allowed to see her because my sister did not know that I flew up to see her. This could help you if family is keeping you shut out for some reason. Last I knew was that Joe lived in Rockton IL. Don't be afraid to ask for help. There is probably a board member that lives near enough that could help you in some way. Guys on this board are unbelievable. "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Ben Franklin at signing of Declaration of Independence or was it Dawg at
the WHCM to the other HCMF's.

Our thoughts and prayers are with him and your entire family as well. As Old Hemi said there are members all over and I'm only about an hour and a half
away (if your in Rockton). I have an insane schedule but if you need some help let me know and I'll do my best to get you some.
Twist the throttle till you smell shit or see God!!!

Talk ,read or tell jokes to him keep his mind working this is when it heals. Be yourself, that you show him when your alone he will remember all of it. Been
there and remember everyone of my family that was there and almost word for word what they said most did not like what I said to them later..
life is but a single grain of sand in the hour glass of time

Terrible news, but that sarcasm shows that he has a lot of fight in him, and that is a good thing! I know that this is hard on you, but your posting here has
shown a lot of strength on YOUR part also. We're all behind you, and we're all behind Joe.
