I bought a 1976 yesterday with the vin # 10835872. The tag on the neck says 2/71.

trpbill, the tag on your neck should have the vin number which should match the stamped number on the other side of your neck.
Your number is too large - has too many digits. Is this number on the title/paprwork? If so, someone transposed something - I suspect the last number was added - the "2". If you drop the 2 - then it makes sense that your bike is a '71. Here is the timeline chart: http://hondachopper.com/K.classification.html "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately." Ben Franklin at signing of Declaration of Independence or was it Dawg at
the WHCM to the other HCMF's.

btw, there were replacement cases with no stamps. yours might have been one of these, and someone took the liberty of adding their own numbers, eh?

Yep, the Ohio title says 10835872, the tag and stamp on the neck say 1081088, the motor is 1085106. Where it says make and make description on the title it
says ASVE. I think I have to talk to the seller.
