Hello I'm Joe's girlfriend Mic.

I know that this was put here to keep everyone updated. Please forgive my lack of computer skills. I'm kind of sheltered.

I talked to the doctor today. Finally just me and him.
Here goes...

Joe is in serious condition. Although he is stable, that stability is extremely fragile. He going to be kept in the intensive care until until his vitals are at a more sturdy level. We cannot move him. He is in a bed that keeps his whole body still. I cannot remember what it's called, but it scares me. I also learned that he is in an induced coma to help him heal faster.

His injuries consist of...

broken left femur
broken left ankle
separated right hip
broken right kneecap
6 crushed discs in his lower back
3 broken ribs
broken left collarbone
separated right shoulder
severe concussion

There are a lot of cuts and bruises but most of those are covered by the bed and the traction table harnesses. His shoulder has been closed together as well as his hip. So the doctors say its just a matter of the swelling to go down for that. He will need more traction for his back as well as possible surgery. But we won't find that out until he is stable enough to wake up. The operated on his knee in the emergency room. So I guess that's taken care of as well.

The coma is the worst part for us. The doctor says that while they put him in the coma, Joe has to be able to come out of it on his own.

His mother got a copy of the final police report that gives the whole story of the accident. I'm going to wait until tomorrow after I come home from the hospital. I'm just too tired. I'm sorry.

His family, the doctors, and even you here have all reassured me that he is a fighter and we will be ok. I can only hope and pray that he is going to be alright.
