45-50 Should be fairly easy to come by . Lots depends on your jetting and plug reading skills .Red

54 avg city and highway last check.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.
Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say. |

Some old magazine reviews rated the stock cb750 sohc at right about 35 to the gallon... I get about 35-40 ish
If you can't tell it's not a Harley, I won't tell you it's a Honda.

Gross weight has lot to do with motorcycle mileage. Stocker - ABOUT 520lbs - aftermarket framed chopper - ABOUT 425lbs.
Rider weight is a BIG factor. Gear - camping/bags/tools/backpack weight. Based on your bike and your size, I would hazard a guess that you should figger on 40mpg tops with Connecticut type riding. Less hills and straighter roads as you get past NYC on your trip south should help with mileage. But, then you get bored and start running faster and eating gas faster - vicious cycle. Puns intended. Swisherred, I have a 48 rear also, I have tried a 16,17 and now an 18 and I love it. I have run at between 75-80 with it a couple times when I have needed and
if seems to run great there, I haven't checked the mileage at that speed though. With the 18 in front at 70 I am running at about 5000 rpms.
