There is a little seal in there. It is not that bad to change, I got a small pick set from harbor freight, pulled it out and drove the new one in with, I think
a 10mm socket. It takes just a couple of minutes.

You can take a wood screw and screw down into the original seal down in the hole where the tach goes. replace that seal. i think they are about 3 bux at honda.
and yes, you can also use some silicon as well. I always replace the seal and then take some blue rtv and go around the base of the plug and the little
recessed areas in the tach plug. Let it get tacky, but not all the way dry and stuff the tach cable/plug back in and tighten that screw back up. it shouldnt
leak again.

Is it a seal or an o-ring, It looks like a flat seal in mine, it is really stuck down in there I scraped most of it out with a filed down small screwdriver,
are those normally stuck in there, or did someone possibly glue mine in?

its a flat seal. like I said, I have always just taken a sharp piointed wood screw and screwed into the seal (not into the hole in the seal, actually into the
seal itself) and snatched them out. I've never had one be much trouble at all.

How thick is this seal, the one in mine was paper thin, I had to scrape it out, A screw wouldn't even go into it because it is so thin. so what I need to
do is make sure all remnants of the old seal are out and push a new seal in, a little rtv and that should do it.

man, mine didn't look like that....it was just an o-ring.......or maybe it's jammed all the way in the bottom of the hole?????

Hell, I dont know. It may have just been worn slap ass out. I have never seen one that flatened out. Just do what ya said and clean it up, add a seal and some
RTV.
