ARD Magneto |
Lead | |
|
Well, since I bought Twistedspoke's Joe Hunt/R.C. magneto, I'm selling the ARD that I got from Camhello last year. I'd like to keep it, but I need
the cash. It's complete with all the hardware and yellow plug wires. I never ran it, but I spun it with a drill and it sparks. It's polished pretty
nicely; has a few scratches here & there, but it looks nice. Here's a link to pictures. $650.00 shipped in the U.S.

Damn, that's a sweet price!! Wish it was 3 months ago before I became poor(again).

Anyone care to elaborate on the advantage of running this set up?
Oldhemi - let it be said "YOU have the best avatar" LRT has nothing on you. (Sorry Tommy, he beat you fair and square)

They're cool looking. |

In their day they were the hot setup, especially for racing, but a modern electronic ignition is better. But like LooneyTunes says, a magneto is way cool.
You'll get all the chicks.

Yeah, kinda my point. I'd rather spend the extra dough on a different part of the build. Just my 3 cents.

Those magnetos do look pretty slick on the side of the engine like that. It also extends the points side of the engine out as far as the alt side balancing the
look of the engine. I'm curious how much more difficult it is tuning carbs with that installed though.
I suspect TEC-1423 opposing dual pivot twin rocker ignition with double current reservoirs I've been running is going to wear out one of these days. I've been using the same main assembly baseplate for 20 years and it's about due. I have to keep a spare set of opposing dual pivot twin rockers (chrome no less) in my saddlebag in case one breaks on me out of town. Most dealers have no idea they have them in stock, but they do on a dusty shelf in a tattered forgotten little box in the very back. They only know them as 30203-300-154 and 30204-300-154. Just friendly teasing. Trick shit is always cool and makes a bike
just that much more individual. That puppy shines like it was new!
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.
Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say. |
