rough them up a bit with a file where the clamp grabs them. that usually does it.

or file the surfaces where the clamp halves come together. It gives them more room to close up.
If you don't have space between the clamps you aren't gripping as tight as you can, best is to have about 1/16-1/8 inch space between them when clamped down tight on a bar. Ken |

Maybe this is too obvious but are your handlebars 7/8" and the riser clamps 1"? Maybe some shims will fix the problem.
I don't intend to question your wrenching abilities, but that is something I would probably miss if I didn't just have to figure out why MY handlebars were so loose..... I am the first to admit I AM A NOOB. -Scribe |

Do the bars slip immidiatly after you have tightened the bolts, or do they loosen up after you ride for a bit? If you clamps are loosesning after you ride then
vibration (or your riding stance) is probably to blame. Try a split washer (if one will fit in the clamp hole) or some lock-tite if this is the issue...Tup

shims, you can make them yourself out of an aluminum beer can.

Make sure they're 7/8" risers, rough 'em up, file down the clamp-halves, use split-washers and locktite, wrap the bars w/ tape, dril and tap the
bars, and make beer-can shims. They should stay put then.

I can't take credit for the beercan shim idea it's from "ZEN AND THE ART OF MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE". But as stated by others make sure your
risers are the same size as your bars 7/8" is standard for cb750s.
