Custom Made Trees |
Lead | |

Anyone know a machinist making custom degree trees? I need a 10 degree tree made, would like it very beefy. I am working with Java to find someone local but
thought I would post to see if there is someone out there already making some.

Red, dohc tubes that are about 2 over the sohc stockers raked out to 46-48 degrees depending on where I decide when we weld it back up. Looking to solve the
tree problem before decisions on rake made final. I would probably back off the neck rake if I can find some trees so my final rake with trees becomes 48-50
degrees total.
See this post. Java figures I need 10 degrees in the trees with 47 in the neck but that lays her out there at 57 degrees! Really steep for telescopic forks. I would try 48-50 given how short the tubes I am planning to run but I am not sure the suspension will work way out at 57. http://www.hondachopper.yuku.com/topic/7126?page=1

Just a thought but if your gonna welder up at the frame height you have in those photos. You are going to have to make custom pipes youself and have them level
with the frame. And at a frame height of 3" (which is what I'm running) your oil bolt will only be 2 1/4" off the ground for speed bumps and
driveways hunting to take it out. How much are them forks going to compress once you put weight back in the frame? That might come into play as well dropping
your frame even more.

We set the ride height at 5 inches. We are planning the neck height to do the extra dropping. In our jig, there are mounts right below the rear motor mount
that are metal reaching down square to the metal rails. We use these to set the ride height. When we rake the front it therefore requires the front to drop
(shorter downtubes).

Ok just checking cause I'm running 3" and have trashed my pipes twice even though they are running 3 1/4 along side my frame.

Actually, it is ironic you posted this. I do like the 3 inch look but it was you whom has informed others in posts beware of the 3 inch ride height. Your
warning had me looking for 5 inches. I don't think I want to be monkeying with potholes and speed bumps. I'll just take pictures of it in tall grass to
get that LLOOOWWWW look.
