The coldest I ever went out it was 7, my gloves were to thin and by about the 3rd mile I couldn't feel my fingers, I said Fuck it I'm going home...
Other than that, generally I'll ride as low as the upper 30's and lower 40's... The coldest "long" ride I ever did was the time I had to
pickup my harley from a dealership in Milwaukee and road it home in the NW Chi-Town Suburbs. It was about 30 degrees that day and I didn't have the right
gear just jeans, thin gloves and my leather jacket... Can you say "Shrinkage" boys and girls?

I tell myself 50 degrees... but if its been ALL WINTER and it manages to hit 40 anything... GO!
If it's been a while in the winter and the bikes been sitting... and it hits 30 anything plus ... GO round the block ...lol
If you can't tell it's not a Harley, I won't tell you it's a Honda.

Depends on how far how fast.
30's ain't unthinkable for across town. 40's for a short ride up to 55mph. 50's for anything farther or faster. But then sometimes you ain't got a choice. When the bike is the only way you're gettin' there... or you're there on the bike when the temp falls out... Worst I ever did was 22 miles in the high 20's at 55mph with just jeans, t-shirt, and light leather jacket. It was a real nice day when I went there, had to go home tho. By the time I got home, I couldn't get off the bike 'cause my knees didn't work any more. So I just sat there and hugged the motor for a while. |

I've only been riding for a couple of months or so but I'm of the opinion that unless there is ice on the ground when I leave in the morning, I'm
taking my bike. I've got some pretty good cold weather gear, nothing heated or anything. Usually all that gets cold is my hands. I think the coldest
I've ridden in was about 25 degrees. I've got about a 20 minute ride to work.

When I was 16 or 17 I rode about 100 miles on Route 95 from RI to Conn in 30 degree weather during a mild snowstorm on a 200cc Vespa motor scooter to stay the
weekend with my girlfriend. Wore all my ski gear. Of course back then I'd suffer through just about any chit for some poontang. In Texas I am spoiled.
Anything under 60-65 seems unfriendly, now that I have a car. Sad to say these days I am so lazy I probably would barely cross the street for a fresh glass of
pooontang! greg
