"lockup-equipped, infinitely variable hydraulic mechanical transmission-the HFT delivers superb throttle response and a direct drive feel-" Come on now- that's totally different than an old CB auto- "infinitely variable hydraulic mechanical transmission"- that means that the bike doesn't shift through gears in the tranny, rather the drive gear grows or shrinks according to the computer/engine speed needs- (hypothetically could maximize acceleration/fuel mileage/or any compromise in between with the correct program in the computer). Def. not neccessesarily better though- kinda like driving a real fast electric bike I imagine- I like shiftin' and riding old tech vs new tech- but hell I'd like to give it a test ride!

I kind of like the bike. looks like a futuristic design from the 70's but not futuristic today. doesn't look any worse than a goldwing which I assume is the market there shooting to compete with. Cmon man I didn't say I wouldn't ride it. Nor that I didn't like it. It was mostly the "human-friendly" part I was referring to. As if bikes today weren't human-friendly. Don't get me wrong, the better the performance and gas mileage the longer you can spend out on the road. Great. No more lumpy shifting. Great. Every asshole wanting to ride now that they don't have to actually develop some skill to handle themselves. Here come the cellphone bikers.... I think I am just against the idea that "everyone" can ride. Makes me worry about all the possible outcomes from that. The CVT transmission for the car was put into (among other things) the Ford 500. I test drove one. Just constant pull on your head when you stepped on the gas. Neat stuff. The only benefit I see is that now disabled bikers can ride with one less distraction. Sorry I'll shut up now.

As a touring bike it is tits I bet. If I liked touring bikes I would buy one. And you must admit that engine they are using is really a nice setup. Just my $.02 ONCE-A-NITE

The Confederate Renovatio looks like a sperm cell from the Terminator! The Yamaha Maxam 3000 is a Buick Convertible crossed with a white leather couch. Alas, no choppers....

And I can just see the damn thing's LCD display now: MALFUNCTION, MALFUNCTION, MALFUNCTION.... Something about a gizmo interpreting what I want to do or how I do it bothers me. Maybe it's because I've had faulty ABS software cause an accident, or brain box wig out on the highway sending me into a slide, or an air bag deploy because the computer misinterpreted a bump for an impact. It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well. Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say.
