I'm going to call the SS Badger tomorrow. They leave from Manitowoc and dock in Ludington. I'm thinking about their 12:30am out of Manitowoc on Wed night and returning on the 7:55pm Sunday. According to the web site I should get a 10 or 20% discount [I didn't understand that part yet so I got to call them]. It would be $217 before any discounts. I figured my bike will take $50 to $60 in gas round trip so once I deduct that from what the ferry costs the ferry seems to make the most sense. I saw the Chicago road construction first hand a few weeks ago and I'm not ready to try that again any time soon. Hard tails and that shit don't go together!! The Badgers a slower boat [4 hours instead of 2 1/2] than the Lake Express but then I'm a bit slow myself. I'm thinking I have to spend a bit more than if I ride, but going through Chicago again I may end up dead, and that would make my week-end totally suck.
