Paint stripper.... |
Lead | |
|
I wanna strip the paint off my tank and fender. I was thinking about using the spray can stripper stuff, any thoughts? There is several layers of paint on
there Im not sure how well that stuff works I really wanna get it completely stripped for as cheap as possible.

Aircraft remover is what I use...or Aircraft Stripper or somthing like that...you'll find it at Auto stores or even Wal Mart.
It works well, cuts thru layers and even bondo...just gotta let it sit for awhile and do its thing. You may have spray it a few times but I like it. Just follow the directions on the can, have ventilation, and wear rubber gloves...and I think it says use a plastic scraper but I always use a metal puddy knife. Good luck! |

Definitely Aircraft stripper. I recently tried the spray-on stuff and it doesn't even compare.

Big, mean angle grinder with a coarse wire wheel attachment, 5 minutes and you're to bare metal. Where a face shield and gloves.

i prefer the 3M brown rol-loc disc. second would be a D.A. with sandpaper. wire wheels rip up the metal and heat it up. but all of these methods create heat so
dont stay in one place too long. if you dont have an air compressor then stripper works great. but use some thick ass gloves!

Lowe's sells some spray on stuff that works really well.
Jasco was the brand name. It even dissolves lacquer and epoxy. Spray on, wait, hose off!
Underneath all this fat lies the body of a

I used some spray-on aircraft stripper the other day.......didn't bother with long sleeves or gloves because I'm tough and stippers/chemicals don't
usually bother me..........or yeah at least so I thought......get a blob or two of aircraft-stripper-saturated paint on your arm and see if you aren't
racing to the sink in pain! Seriously, that shit burns and quick! I'd hate to think about gettin' it in my eyes.....dress appropriately!!!

shit at walmart that says STRIPPER on it. atound by the automotive touch up paint and shit. i stripped a brand new factory painted HD sporty tank, still in the
HD box. I got all the paint, clear, decals, primer.....naked tins when i got done.....about 5 minutes later! quick. i have done several since and i actually
take them to the car wash and set them on the drain. spray the shit on and use the hose to blast the shit off....go home and prep real quick or rub oil on it
then to prevent insta-rust.
