How much does the machining cost for boring out to 836?
Went to a local bike shop to see how much it would cost to get the cylinders big bored to 836, and they said they'd send it to a machine shop and it's about $150 a hole, and then around $100 to machine the surface flat. I asked him to check with the machine shop and he's going to get back to me with a quote to get the work done. Even for good work this price seems high to me, as well as to my loose (but not expert) friends. This is California so things do cost more on average but even so, that seems higher than I expect, by far.

$800 for the just the boring and honing. Not counting the 836 piston kit.
So please, anyone with experience, please chime in with wise advice of the great Honda chopper veterans...
