Alright guys any of you northwest chopperheadz into hunting morels? I'd usualy be in the woods every night after work back in illinois picking my
supper of morels to be lathered in olive oil. But I swear the whole mushroom hunting thing here is different and I've had like nooooooooooo luck so far.
Dying for a decent homecooked hand picked meal here lol.......

I thought morel hunting was a Michigan thing. I always wanted to find some, it must be good from what lengths the morel hunters go through just find a
handfull. They just had a show on the travel channel not long ago about the guys in northern Michigan they go out as a group wearing their mushroom t-shirts
and cooking them right in the woods where they find em. I want some now.

i usually find them around herer near mothersday. havn't been out in a few years but have a few spots i'm gonna check soon.

They just had the "Morel Festival" in Muscoda, WI I used to pick 'em when the family had land in central WI. Split 'em soak 'em, fry
'em in a cast iron skillet w'butter & a little salt!!!

I never eat them but the come up in my yard almost every year. About a wally world bag full.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.

Just got an email they're already finding them in illinois and missouri.... That means cutleaf toothwart and red trillium are out too which are also good
for the plate.

I just went out and checked. They were small about 4 days ago and I was waiting until they were done. Someone snuck down here and picked them all when I
wasn't here. Found some broken stalks at the ground and one small one they missed. Piss me off. I pick them and give them to one of my OL's good
friends. Sometimes I get a second batch. If I catch them all hell is gonna break loose all about their head and shoulders.
