Anybody got any ideas to free up a stuck float (if that's what it is) in a bike coming out of winter storage-please read the whole post before replying
Bike was put away with Stabil, same mix as always and same as two other bikes that started up just fine. Between 4 bikes & a jetski I've got 21 carbs,
add a few more for lawn equipment, snowblower, so you could say I've been doing this awhile
Damn new (crappy) gas
Anyway, gas pours out of the overflow as soon as the bike is started (vacuum petcock) and bike bogs down so at least one cyl. is flooding out from a high bowl level. With gas turned off it runs fine for a bit. I can only get a slight peek at #1 & #4 (it's a '93 um, SOHC
) Already done the tapping
routine, let the bike warm up to where the fan kicks in & cycles for about 5-8 minutes. Let it sit there warm. No luck so I took it for a 10 minute ride,
mostly between 8-9k RPM by turning the gas on/off to top off the bowls without dumping too much gas in front of the rear tire. No luck. Put about one and a
half times the normal Sea Foam mix int the gas just now and ran it to get it into the carbs. Not too difficult to get it into the proper carb by simply running
down the street with a trail of gas coming out/through it
Anyway, if it was just a "normal"
SOHC I'd pop the bails and drop the bowls to
exercise the floats. Anybody got a suggestion beyond what I'm doing, to coax a solution without tearing into the bike? Honda book time for carb R&R is
4 hours BTW, only reason
I'm even asking. TIA
